The Way, The Truth, and The Life
In preparation for his transition, Jesus has quite a few teachable moments with his disciples. There is one moment in particular in John 14 that served as a reminder of how one is able to join him when he goes to Heaven. He explains to his disciples that he is the way meaning it is through him one can reach God, truth meaning he is the source of truth that sets us free, and life meaning he is the source of eternal life because he is God. He goes on to explain that the disciples have met the Father through him because he only moves and speaks from the guidance of the Father.
Although, God is not in the flesh, Jesus is still alive and his word further confirms that it still stands true. We still have access to eternal life by simply believing in him and trusting who he said he is.
If you are in a place of doubt or curious, read John 14. It’s like a teacher reviewing for a test and making sure the students are prepared. Jesus is the greatest reflection of God that many were privileged to see in the flesh. Unfortunately, we don’t get that opportunity, but his word serves as the best piece of revelation a person can have to experience who he is.
