Working In Excellence!
One of my former students messaged me about having an encounter with the Holy Spirit. She returned to church after being gone for a while and the youth leader preached about hearing from God. The youth leader prayed over my former student and she said her heart melted and she began to cry. She didn't quite understand what was happening, but I informed her that she experienced Holy Spirit filling her up with the love of God.
This student messaging me was a reminder of how amazing God is and how the little seeds we sow reap a harvest. This student battled balancing life as a believer and being in a secular environment. I'd prayed for her, counseled her, and saw the change in her perspective.
There are so many negative things I hear about public education, but after visiting a few private schools I can say no place is perfect. I'm left thinking if every educator left education then what would happen to the lost souls that were supposed to be reached in the schools? Yes, I can draw away and hide in a safe place, but when I go to heaven I don't believe God would say well done my good and faithful servant.
Today, a comment was made to me about leaving my old district for a district that is "about to be shut down." I can't deny I wasn't a little ticked off by the comment, but God quickly reminded me that I follow his instruction and I'm on assignment meaning I go where HE needs me to go. My mission in life is to embrace, educate, and empower and everywhere I go that is what God allows me to do.
My former student messaging me gave me so much peace because I know her future is bright and that she is going to be used by God in an amazing way. I don't care how bad places look, as a believer we are called to go into those places and expose the lost to the love and knowledge of Christ. Honestly, I don't know all that God has in store for me, but what I do know is that when God has allowed me to move I've left well knowing that his presence was left within someone.
Whatever you do, wherever you go, do what God has called you to do in excellence. The rewards may not be apparent in the beginning, but rest assure the harvest will manifest and you will bear fruit!
