Don't Get Caught Up In The Hype!
Greetings Saints and Future Saints,
Don't get caught up in the hype. What you see in the natural is not always the same in the spiritual realm. You may try to justify the natural by disregarding the spiritual aspect, but that's kind of hard to do considering we are spiritual beings with a soul in a body. Think about how many times we've been hurting spiritually, yet we slap on a smile to appear as though everything is okay. Only those with spiritual eyes can see what's happening beyond the natural, so allow the eyes of your understanding to be enlightened and ask God for wisdom and discernment.
2 Timothy 3:5 states, “For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].”
Paul warned Timothy that there would be people operating in a form of godliness, but they deny and reject the power of the one true living God. Many will call the name of Jesus, but do they move in his power? Do they reject and mock those who pray in the spirit, heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons?
Galatians 6:7-9 reads, "Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.”
Although many are being bamboozled by notoriety, a few open acts of godliness, and a form of false humility, continue to keep your eyes on Christ seeking him daily. Strive to know him and his heart so that you will not be deceived. Even when you feel as if you are standing on God's word alone, know that you are not alone and that God already has a hedge of protection around you. Stay grounded and don't get caught up in the hype!
