Turn Your Scowl Into A Smile!
Whoever said intimidation was the way to gain respect clearly didn't know Jesus... He never forced his position as the son of God upon anyone in hopes that they would come to Christ. In fact, he loved on them so hard that they couldn't resist joining his team.
Intimidating people only reflects a deep level of insecurity within, which causes an individual to be controlling, lacking compassion, rude, and inconsiderate of others. Don't be that person in the forefront with bitterness, anger, and trust issues destroying your heart. Step away or step down get counseling and learn how to function with people. God loves his children and the worst thing you can do is allow your past hurt to create more hurt in the body of Christ. I'm aware no one wants to admit to being intimidating, but I challenge you to speak to people outside your circle of friends "who just understand you." If three or more people say it then it's time to start detoxing.
Remember, to evoke fear is opposite of God's will. He gave us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). You may want to shift the blame by saying they're being scary, but who wants to battle a person whose unreasonable and downright mean. Not I!!!! Nevertheless, to be intimidating in the body of Christ is like a slap in the face to Christ because he did not die for us to get haughty and think we are too good to walk in humility.
