A Father's Love!
You'd be surprised to know just how much a Father adores his child even when he doesn't say it. My father was a quiet man, but in his silence he would look at you and you knew how he was feeling. Although a father to many, being his only girl was always a strength for me. My birth transformed his way of thinking since my older siblings were all boys. There's something special about being a Daddy's girl that goes beyond material things. A man's wife has his heart, but for a man to see he was involved in creating such a beautiful queen truly softens his heart.
My fathers love, drove the way I received and gave love. When it was felt I embraced love and loved hard, but when I didn't feel it, I rejected love and withheld it. It took years for me to truly understand that the only way a father could consistently love is through receiving love from our Heavenly Father. My father struggled to receive love simply because he dealt with guilt and shame. As I received loved from God, I no longer allowed my natural Father's love to determine how I received and gave love. Soon my father learned to love again by simply seeing God's love through me.
Because of how Christ loves me, I was able to love my father beyond his faults, through his recommitment to Christ and until his death. My father wasn't perfect, but he always loved the best way he knew how. He may not have grown up with the foundation or knowledge on how to love, but I'm convinced he gained a clearer understanding the more he embraced God's love.
Two years gone and I miss him every day, but knowing his soul rests in Heaven brings me peace. May we honor our father’s even if their only achievement was conceiving you. I know without a doubt that deliverance is real and the most selfish person can meet Christ and start a new life. Love hard, forgive quickly, and speak life! Happy Father’s Day to every man who steps up to love and teach a child the way that they should go.
