Don't Fall Back!
One of the enemy’s greatest tricks involves him shaking our confidence in Christ. He does it by planting seeds of fear, shame, guilt, and defeat. There are so many individuals in the body of Christ who have been gifted to do amazing things, but they become stagnant simply because they allow misfortunes and setbacks to drive them into a place of thinking they are unworthy.
Hebrews 10 tells us, “Do not, therefore, fling away your [fearless] confidence, for it has a glorious and great reward. 36 For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised.” Many have gotten to a place of doubt and complacency, and this is the time when we must uncompromisingly and boldly stand on God’s word.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us to “not grow weary in well doing, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Further in Hebrews 10: 38-39, it is reiterated that the righteous should live by faith and if one shrinks back, there is no pleasure in him. It goes on to state,” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.” It is pleasing to God for us to have faith in who he is and what he’s said he would do. Misfortunes and setbacks will come, but our faith in Christ will carry us through them all.
