A Life Worth Living!
When speaking of Ruth we normally acknowledge her loyalty to Naomi, but let's consider her ability to demonstrate resilience. Many women have a tendency to regress at the loss of someone they love whether it be a physical loss or an emotional loss. In the case of Ruth, she didn't go into a state of isolation or depression. She considered the fact that there was still a purpose to be served. Ruth 1:16-18 "Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.” When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her."
By serving her purpose and not giving up she was blessed with Boaz. You may have recently gotten divorced, ended a relationship, or even experienced the death of a spouse, but I challenge you to not lose hope and to embrace resilience. Remember when someone leaves our life, we must realize that as long as we have breath in our lungs we are still on a mission to fulfill the purpose God has for our life.
