My heart is so heavy right now. Disagreeing has never been an issue with God because he set up instructions on how to properly do it...but judging someone because they don't agree with you is where we have a problem. If you voted Trump I still love you. If you voted Hilary I still love you because the minute I belittle your character or make you appear as being less of a Christian based on a vote, I have become no better than you. Many of you have spoken out of emotion and opened a gateway for the enemy to use you. Have we forgotten how the Pharisees operated?
With that being said, let your vote speak for you, but stop creating division by judging those who chose to vote a different way than you. Yea, you said your piece and you even got a few supporters, but at the end of the day did you create unity and peace or were your words just another seed sown into the brokenness that already exist within the body of Christ.
Voting is a blessing and blessings were never meant to be burdens. If your opportunity to vote has become a burden, then seek the Father and ask him to change your perspective or better yet ask him to reveal his perspective. Today, your vote and prayers speak more volumes than the judgmental words that are spewed at your brother and sister in Christ.
Honestly, I'm not worried at all! I will sleep peacefully and wake up knowing that no matter who the next president is, my God is greater and he is my helper. He is the one who grants power, provision, and protection. So, if you are in a fearful state, I challenge you to meditate on Psalm 121.
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalms 121:1-8 ESV
My greatest prayer is that the body of Christ would not allow this day to draw out hatred. Instead take time to reflect, check your heart, repent, and pray because every moment of chaos that arises is a challenge to the body of Christ to align themselves with Christ in spirit and in truth.
