Application Is The Key!
Recently, my coworkers and I spent a good minute teaching our students how to write expository essays. We modeled, gave them opportunities to practice, and provided feedback. Nonetheless, as I graded I realized that no matter how many times they were shown how to do something and how many resources they were provided, when they took a test, many chose not to apply what they learned.
Just like my students, believers can read the word of God, hear numerous messages, hear testimonies and see miracles all day, but at the end of the day everything must applied. I believe God has equipped many people, but they have yet to apply what has been learned. My prayer is that we would not be prepared and equipped and just sit. God has activated many gifts within us, but we must take the time to apply what's be learned. You may be in a test or entering a test, but know that in order to pass the test you will need to use your resources.
“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.
