One thing my students always say when they aren't doing well in my class is, "I always did well last year." My response is "What grade were you in?" They reply, "7th grade." My response "Are you not in a higher grade level? They respond, "Yes, but..." My reply, "So why do you expect to operate on a 7th grade level as an 8th grader?"
God wants us to get the same revelation that the changes we experience are not to harm us, but instead to help us. We've all had these moments where we had to realize that the increase or promotion God has given comes along with a variety of challenges that stretch us.
As we walk into a season of newness and increase, doing what we did in the old season isn't enough. We are challenged to allow God to change our actions, ways of thinking, and associations in order for us to be in alignment with the where he is taking us.
Although it feels as if you are working harder than usual or being rejected by some people, know that God is for you and has absolutely no desire to harm you. You are simply experiencing a shift that is preparing you to go further into the destiny God has for you.
